are very popular at our site - so
we've started a new series which

a brief account of the contents.
The first two in the series are on

like the help of an informal chat
with others in the same position?

offer encouragement and advice
to anybody who has problems with
their research. There are also

0----- ESSENTIALS - the best WRITING SKILLS

recommendations on the best and
most popular books, chosen by
subscribers and site visitors.
ESSENTIAL WRITING is next in the series.

Number one choice, streets ahead of all
others - WRITERS' & ARTISTS' YEAR BOOK.

0----- 'Oxford Dictionary of Allusions'
If somebody is "as rich as
Rockefeller" you probably know
it's an allusion to the American
oil tycoon and millionaire.
But if someone looks at you with
"the stare of a Medusa", you might
need to check on Gorgons in Greek
mythology. [You'll discover you are
about to be turned to stone.]
This is a completely new type of
reference book which explains the
originals to which allusions are
made. The compilers have gone for
modern relevance by including names
from popular 20th century culture,
as well as the Greco-Roman classics.

those on offer are pretty wacky - but
they're all FREE! Have a look at -

0----- XHTML - the Web's 'Next Big Thing'?
Did you know that HTML had reached
the end of its development life?
It will be replaced by XHTML - which
stands for 'Extensible' HTML.
It's *almost* the same thing - but
XHTML will allow you more control over
the appearance of your pages. Plus, you
will be able to define your own tags -
as in
